Java Developer – SAS Viya Platform (Pune)

About the role

The Java Developer will join SAS's Viya 3.5 team at the Pune R&D Centre. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining the Viya 3.5 platform and related services, working closely with a diverse, experienced team.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance, maintain, and fix customer and security issues across multiple Viya 3.5 products.
• Collaborate with customers and technical support to resolve security and performance problems.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and support secure software development goals.
• Perform unit, integration, functional, and performance testing (manual and automated).
• Contribute to design and development of mid‑tier services and REST APIs.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java programming skills with experience in Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Hands‑on experience with database‑centric applications using PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL.
• Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and security concepts (e.g., Snyk, Blackduck).
• Experience working in fast‑paced Agile environments and with large legacy code bases.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and use AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
