Java Developer – Microservices & AWS (Mid‑Level)

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Java Developer to build scalable microservices and REST APIs in a cloud‑first environment. You will work with Java 17+, Spring Boot and AWS as part of an agile squad delivering digital platforms used by millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservices within an agile (Scrum/Kanban) squad.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs following microservices architecture.
• Apply best‑practice coding standards to ensure high quality and performance.
• Implement testing strategies (TDD/BDD, unit, integration, end‑to‑end, performance).
• Provide production support, troubleshoot issues and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create customer‑centric solutions.
• Coach and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to design and develop RESTful APIs in a microservices environment.
• Good understanding of design patterns and clean‑code principles.
• Hands‑on experience with TDD/BDD and related testing frameworks.
• Experience working in agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of AWS services or comparable cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with containerisation tools like Docker.
• Exposure to monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to support production environments.
