IT Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a customer‑focused IT Desktop Support Engineer to join our growing IT team. You will be the primary point of contact for local and remote employees, ensuring their hardware and software are secure, functional, and optimised.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tier‑1 and tier‑2 technical assistance via ticketing system, email, chat, and in‑person.
• Install, configure, test and maintain workstations, laptops, monitors, docking stations and printers.
• Deploy, patch and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 and macOS environments, as well as enterprise applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, password resets and security groups in Active Directory.
• Troubleshoot basic network issues (LAN, Wi‑Fi, DNS, DHCP) and support remote workers with VPN connectivity.
• Ensure devices comply with security policies, including antivirus/EDR, BitLocker/FileVault encryption and MFA.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, peripherals and software licences.
• Create self‑service guides, knowledge‑base articles and assist with onboarding and offboarding.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of hands‑on experience in desktop support, helpdesk or IT technician roles.
• Strong proficiency with Windows 10/11 and macOS.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and Google Workspace.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi configuration, VPN clients).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
