IoT Engineer – Satellite IoT & Data Relay Systems

About the role

We are looking for an IoT Engineer specialized in Satellite IoT and Data Relay Systems to design and deploy SmallSat‑based IoT solutions. The role blends deep technical work on end‑to‑end satellite IoT architectures with direct interaction with customers, sales, and payload teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and support complete satellite IoT architectures, including devices, RF links, satellites, ground stations, and cloud platforms.
• Optimize low‑power, low‑data‑rate device‑to‑satellite communication for high latency and intermittent connectivity.
• Collaborate with SmallSat/CubeSat payload teams, handling link‑budget calculations, orbital dynamics, power budgets, and scheduling constraints.
• Apply RF fundamentals such as link budgets, interference, Doppler shift, antenna design, and regulatory compliance.
• Support ground‑segment and cloud integration, covering data decoding, buffering, retry mechanisms, and scalable ingestion pipelines.
• Provide technical pre‑sales support, solution design, feasibility analysis, and customer consultations.
• Assist with pilot deployments, proof‑of‑concepts, and field debugging of device, RF, and data issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Communication, Embedded Systems, Aerospace, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in IoT systems, either terrestrial or satellite.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, RF communication, and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, MQTT, and CoAP.
• Solid knowledge of satellite communication principles, LEO constraints, and ground‑station operations.
• Familiarity with low‑power wide‑area network protocols like LoRa/LoRaWAN or NB‑IoT/LTE‑M is a plus.
