Interior Design Faculty

About the role

The JD Institute of Fashion Technology in Siliguri is seeking a full‑time Interior Design Faculty member to join its Art and Design network. The role involves delivering structured classroom instruction and guiding students through practical interior design projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans covering interior design concepts, materials, space planning and design software.
• Teach both theoretical and hands‑on modules, supervising studio work and project development.
• Provide constructive feedback on assignments, portfolios and design critiques.
• Mentor students on career pathways and industry trends.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty on curriculum enhancement, workshops, exhibitions and industry interactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Strong knowledge of space planning, materials, finishes, colour theory and design principles.
• Effective teaching, mentoring and classroom management abilities.
• Clear communication and presentation skills.
• Prior teaching experience or significant professional practice in interior design is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with SketchUp.
• Proficiency with Revit or similar 2D/3D visualization tools.
