Computer Teacher

About the role

The Narayana Group of Schools is seeking a Computer Teacher to deliver computer science instruction to school students at its Siliguri campus. This full‑time, on‑site position involves planning lessons, conducting labs, and assessing student progress.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily classroom sessions in computer science and related subjects.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and practical lab activities.
• Demonstrate programming concepts and guide students through coding exercises.
• Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes and examinations.
• Develop and update curriculum materials and lesson plans.
• Maintain classroom and lab discipline and provide individual support to learners who need extra help.
• Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary projects.
• Participate in school events and contribute to academic planning.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including hardware, software and operating systems.
• Proficiency in programming concepts and at least one or two commonly used programming languages.
• Effective communication skills for explaining technical concepts to school students.
• Experience or training in curriculum development and lesson planning for computer education.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is an advantage.
• Prior experience teaching school‑level computer subjects or mentoring students in a classroom or lab environment.
• Ability to use educational technology, learning management systems and multimedia tools to enhance instruction.
• Strong organizational skills, patience and a learner‑centered approach.
