Infection Control Nurse – Bardez, Goa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Infection Control Nurse to lead and coordinate infection prevention activities across our hospital in Bardez, Goa. Reporting to the Manager – Quality & Nursing, you will ensure compliance with infection control policies and drive continuous improvement in patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and oversee infection control duties for staff across all departments.
• Maintain surveillance of infection data from hospital areas and laboratories.
• Conduct regular rounds to verify adherence to infection control guidelines.
• Monitor implementation of hospital infection control policies, cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation practices.
• Identify infection rates in high‑risk zones and audit hand‑washing practices.
• Plan and coordinate hospital‑wide education and training programmes on infection control.
• Participate in ongoing training to keep knowledge current.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Medical Director, HOD or management.

Required profile

• GNM qualification with specific training in infection control practices.
• 3–7 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Adherence to the specified dress code and possession of a valid ID card.
• Availability to work duty hours as scheduled.
• Reports to the Manager – Quality & Nursing.

Required skills

• Infection control surveillance and monitoring.
• Hand‑hygiene auditing.
• Cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation oversight.
• Knowledge of NABH standards.
