Independent Director

About the role

The Board is seeking an Independent Director to strengthen governance for a company that provides collection, sorting, processing and recovery services under public contracts. The role focuses on linking municipal accountability, material flow, and financial truth to ensure transparent and reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish a governance system that traces every operating and investor claim to verifiable evidence.
• Oversee project accounting, public‑contract conduct, environmental compliance, fleet productivity and processing yields.
• Verify route‑level evidence for attendance, collection, tonnage, billing and reconcile it with technology data.
• Maintain a defensible material mass balance, investigating any unexplained gaps.
• Separate service fees, recovered‑material proceeds, incentives and one‑time claims to ensure truthful economics.
• Ensure safe and dignified frontline operations, covering traffic risk, equipment safety, protective equipment and incident escalation.
• Require lawful residue custody through proper classification, storage, transport and final treatment documentation.
• Monitor community complaints, related‑party transactions and disclosures for the upcoming public listing.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an independent or non‑executive director, preferably in public‑service or waste‑management sectors.
• Ability to challenge optimistic growth assumptions and superficially attractive recovery claims.
• Strong understanding of municipal contracts, material flow verification and financial reporting.
• Commitment to uphold safety, environmental and ethical standards.
