HR Manager – Construction & EPC Projects

About the role

We are seeking an HR Manager to lead all human‑resource functions for our construction and EPC projects, covering head‑office teams, site engineers, contract labour and subcontractors. The role will design and maintain HR systems that drive mobilisation, productivity and statutory compliance across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce HR frameworks, SOPs, policies and documented processes for corporate and project teams.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions and exits for both office and site staff.
• Manage labour compliance with BOCW, CLRA, ISMW, Minimum Wages and other state labour laws, including licences, registrations and statutory registers.
• Coordinate manpower mobilisation and demobilisation in line with project schedules, handling attendance, deployment and welfare.
• Handle payroll and statutory compliance for PF, ESIC, TDS, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity and BOCW cess, reconciling overtime and site allowances.
• Produce HR dashboards and MIS reports on headcount, cost, attrition, attendance and compliance.
• Address employee relations, grievances, POSH compliance and contractor escalations.
• Support workforce transition at project completion, including exit formalities and asset recovery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of core HR experience, preferably in construction, EPC or infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in site HR, labour management and statutory compliance (BOCW, CLRA, PF, ESIC, Minimum Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, POSH).
• Hands‑on experience with HRMS platforms such as Zoho People or equivalents.
• Proven ability to work closely with project teams and travel to construction sites.
