Hospital Pharmacist

About the role

GBR Fertility Centre is seeking a full‑time Hospital Pharmacist to join its Chennai facility. The pharmacist will ensure safe, evidence‑based medication use for patients undergoing fertility and related treatments, working closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify prescriptions, prepare and dispense medications for fertility and related procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to optimise pharmaceutical care and monitor drug therapies.
• Provide medication counselling to patients and families, ensuring clear understanding of treatment regimens.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, oversee storage conditions and maintain compliance with hospital, regulatory and safety standards.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship programmes, participate in clinical audits and contribute to protocol development.
• Assist in staff education on medication‑related best practices.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in pharmacy and medicine with ability to interpret prescriptions.
• Demonstrated experience in pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical care, including reviewing medication orders and patient‑centred counselling.
• Competence in compounding and preparation of specialised formulations.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/D Pharm) from an accredited institution; valid registration/license with the relevant pharmacy council.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems, prescription management software and inventory control processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation habits and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in a hospital or specialty care setting (fertility, women’s health, or critical care) is an advantage.
