Head of Social Media – India & Sri Lanka

About the role

Uber is looking for a Head of Social Media to lead its social strategy across India and Sri Lanka for both Uber and Uber Eats. You will shape the narrative, create culturally resonant content, and drive engagement on multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and launch channel strategies for Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube and emerging platforms.
• Manage day‑to‑day social media activities for Uber India’s consumer and earner channels and Uber Sri Lanka.
• Identify trends and cultural moments to produce platform‑native, humor‑driven content.
• Shoot, edit and produce original video and graphic assets for product launches, partnerships and campaigns.
• Lead and coordinate creators, influencers and internal creative teams.
• Collaborate with communications, marketing, policy, product and external partners to align messaging and storytelling.
• Champion experimentation through testing, iteration and risk‑taking.

Required profile

• 8+ years of social‑first creative experience at brands, agencies or media companies.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Deep understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) and their audiences.
• Proven track record of building and scaling engaging, culturally relevant social channels.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing creators, influencers or creative teams.
