Head of Security Automation

About the role

The Head of Security Automation provides strategic direction and leadership for the design, implementation, and management of advanced security technologies across the organization. This senior position drives innovation, establishes standards, and ensures that security systems operate efficiently and align with corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall security automation strategy, governance frameworks, and policy influence.
• Oversee AI‑driven analytics, IoT devices, CCTV, access‑control, and biometric systems, ensuring scalability and integration.
• Develop automated threat detection and response frameworks and leverage analytics for continuous optimization.
• Provide project governance, budgeting, risk mitigation, KPI tracking, and quality assurance for security automation initiatives.
• Shape vendor selection, negotiate partnerships, and monitor supplier performance.
• Institute performance metrics, drive innovation, and benchmark against global standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop security automation teams, creating succession plans and collaborating with business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; security‑management certifications preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of corporate security experience, preferably with a military or law‑enforcement background.
• Utility‑industry experience and exposure to corporate security best practices is a plus.
