Head of Operations – US Group Benefits & Life Insurance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to lead our U.S. Group Benefits and Life Insurance delivery in Chennai. This senior leadership position carries end‑to‑end responsibility for operational performance, transformation initiatives, and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own overall delivery and operational performance for U.S. Group Benefits and Life Insurance services.
• Develop and execute operating strategies aligned with business goals and customer commitments.
• Drive productivity, quality, service levels, turnaround times and key performance indicators.
• Lead transformation projects focused on process simplification, standardisation, automation and AI‑enabled efficiencies.
• Act as trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders and executive leadership, leading governance forums and strategic reviews.
• Build, develop and inspire large, multi‑layered teams, overseeing workforce planning, talent development and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with operational risk, governance and business continuity standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of experience in insurance operations, specifically U.S. Group Benefits and Life Insurance.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale delivery organisations and driving operational excellence.
• Strong commercial acumen with measurable business outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualification or insurance certifications (LOMA, FLMI) preferred.
