Head of Architecture - Data, Analytics & AI

About the role

The Head of Architecture – Data, Analytics & AI will lead the enterprise architecture function for data, analytics and artificial intelligence at ANZ. Reporting to the Chief Data, Analytics and AI Officer, this senior leader will shape strategy, roadmaps and governance to ensure technology and capability evolution aligns with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture across the Data, Analytics & AI portfolio, defining strategy, target states, roadmaps and architecture outcomes.
• Provide oversight of portfolio capabilities, ensuring Lead Architects govern platform, product, service and technology evolution.
• Partner with the Chief Data, Analytics and AI Officer and senior leadership to deliver architecture leadership, strategic advice and decision support.
• Operate portfolio architecture governance and act as the primary decision authority for major initiatives and investments.
• Deploy architecture resources effectively to meet demand, delivery commitments and strategic priorities while resolving capacity and capability constraints.
• Lead, develop and grow a high‑performing architecture workforce, including capability development and succession planning.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience leading enterprise data, analytics and AI architecture functions.
• Proven ability to work closely with C‑level executives and senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong governance and portfolio management expertise.
• Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling high‑performing architecture teams.
