Hardware Design Engineer

About the role

ALTEN India is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to lead the design and development of automotive electronic products. You will work on display control, instrument clusters and ensure designs meet EMC standards before production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop circuit schematics for automotive products, including TFT displays and touch‑sense controllers.
• Conduct worst‑case analysis, thermal design, and parts selection for cost‑effective solutions.
• Implement system‑level power‑up/power‑down sequences and manage thermal considerations at PCB and product levels.
• Prepare EMC test plans, execute tests, analyze results and support RCCAs.
• Interface with SoC, DDR, NOR/NAND flash, high‑end microcontrollers and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of hardware development experience, preferably in automotive.
• Quick learner, proactive, hands‑on, and able to work under time pressure.
• Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities with excellent communication skills.
• Self‑starter with high ethics and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Analog/digital interfacing and power‑supply design.
• Experience with TFT displays, touch‑sense and image‑correction controllers.
• Knowledge of HS‑CAN, GMSL, APIX, Ethernet transceiver routing and filter selection.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART interfaces.
• Understanding of automotive EMC requirements and compliance testing.
• Thermal design at PCB and system level.
