Global Settlements Associate

About the role

Alpaca is seeking a Global Settlements Associate to manage end‑to‑end equity settlement across multiple international markets. The role works closely with custodians, counterparties and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Own the global equity settlement process, coordinating with custodians, counterparties and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor daily settlement activity, identify at‑risk transactions and resolve exceptions, trade mismatches and failing trades.
• Perform cash and position reconciliations across global markets and currencies, producing detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with SEC, FINRA and other regulatory requirements, supporting audits and examinations.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to automate workflows using SQL, Metabase and AI tools.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in brokerage operations focusing on global equity settlements.
• Strong knowledge of securities settlement lifecycles, SWIFT messaging and global custodial platforms (BNY Nexen, Euroclear, DTCC).
• Experience reconciling cash and positions across multiple currencies and markets.
• Excellent communication, organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Possess SIE and Series 99 license (or obtain Series 99 within 180 days).
