General Manager

About the role

The General Manager leads Grand Hyatt Kochi’s overall hotel operations, ensuring excellence across guest experience, employee satisfaction and brand standards. Reporting to senior leadership, the GM drives performance, oversees all departments and fosters a solution‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all departments meet or exceed guest service scores and brand expectations.
• Collaborate with Department Managers to create schedules aligned with budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct regular room inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Oversee financial controls for cash, payables, inventories and receivables.
• Guide the team on local attractions and respond to guest reviews across all channels.
• Manage full HR cycle: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, training and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead daily stand‑up and team meetings, reporting on guest scores and key metrics.
• Develop, implement and monitor budgets, forecasts and annual revenue, expense and capital plans.
• Administer vendor and personnel contracts and create incentive programs for staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior hotel management, preferably within a major brand.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Highly motivated team player with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated capability to handle workplace problems, anticipate issues and implement solutions.
• Comfortable working under pressure and in stressful situations.
• Approachable and readily available for team members and guests, delivering exceptional service.
• Experience in coaching, counseling and developing staff.
