Furniture Designer – Full‑time

About the role

Homework living is seeking a full‑time Furniture Designer to join its on‑site team in Kozhikode. The role involves taking furniture concepts from sketch through to production‑ready designs, working closely with carpenters, interior designers and the production workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Research current trends, materials and ergonomics.
• Produce detailed hand sketches, technical drawings and 3D models.
• Collaborate with carpentry and workshop teams to validate design feasibility.
• Work with interior designers and project teams to integrate furniture into overall interior schemes.
• Support prototype development, review samples and adjust specifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product ranges.

Required profile

• Strong background in furniture design and understanding of construction methods.
• Hands‑on experience with carpentry or close collaboration with workshop teams.
• Familiarity with interior design concepts and ability to integrate furniture within broader schemes.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Product Design, Interior Design or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating original furniture or product design work.
• Effective communication and ability to work on‑site in a workshop and studio environment.
