Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Full Stack Engineer in Pune within its Global Payment Services business area. The engineer will drive the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building and managing robust, scalable and secure infrastructure so that digital solutions are delivered seamlessly. The role is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software using engineering methodologies that provide business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues.
• Develop and deliver high-quality software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks and tools, keeping code scalable, maintainable and performance-optimized.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements, devise solution strategies and align with business objectives.
• Take part in code reviews, share knowledge and stay informed of technology trends.
• Follow secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.

Required profile

• Experience with back-end technologies: Java, SpringBoot, JUnit, REST, microservices and test-driven development.
• Database technologies: SQL and NoSQL (Oracle, MongoDB).
• DevSecOps tools: PaaS, OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma and Wiz.
• Build tooling: Maven or Gradle.
• Message queues such as Apache Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Rapid application development using AI models such as Claude and GitLab Duo.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of computer science, object-oriented design and data structures.
• Legal right to work in India; work visa sponsorship must be declared if applicable.
