Fuel Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Fuel Engineer to join our automotive engineering team in Chennai. The role focuses on creating and maintaining 3D CAD models of fuel system components, supporting power‑train integration and ensuring design compliance from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update 3D CAD models and assemblies for fuel tanks, lines, pumps, rails, filters, valves, brackets and mountings using CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE.
• Create 2D drawings with correct GD&T, tolerances and automotive standards.
• Perform interference checks, clearance analysis and mass‑properties validation.
• Support power‑train and vehicle‑level packaging, interface integration and packaging studies.
• Implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and ensure CAD data follows OEM standards and naming conventions.
• Collaborate with module leads, system engineers, manufacturing teams and suppliers for CAD data exchange and quality checks.
• Release CAD data through PLM systems (TeamCenter) according to project milestones.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in automotive fuel system design.
• Strong knowledge of commodity release, change management and BOM handling.
• Ability to support design reviews and prototype/production activities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 (3D/2D).
• Experience using 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Familiarity with PLM tools, especially TeamCenter.
• Competence with Microsoft SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
