Freight Audit Representative

About the role

The Freight Audit Representative is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and validating freight charges across business units. The role works closely with carriers and internal teams to improve processes, ensure accurate payments, and maintain strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct freight audits against approved contracts and issue claims for deficiencies.
• Ensure carriers are correctly set up for accurate, timely payments.
• Integrate carrier reconciliations to clear unmatched charges per SOP.
• Perform month‑end analysis, accruals, and commentary for FP&A and senior management.
• Review duplicate reports, monitor the PeopleSoft interface, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives where freight audit is a stakeholder.
• Apply and document financial controls related to accounts payable with supporting evidence.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with internal teams and carriers.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow issues through to resolution.
• Excellent time‑management skills in a high‑volume, complex environment.
• Self‑motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
• Solid financial acumen to understand AP and audit logic.
