Operations Senior Analyst

About the role

As an Operations Senior Analyst you will play a critical role in banking and financial operations, managing and reconciling Nostro accounts, investigating complex discrepancies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving process improvements across global payment flows.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily Nostro account reconciliations, identify and resolve breaks within service level agreements.
• Leverage platforms such as TLM RP, AMH, PEGA PRS, PIC AU/NZ, FMM, FMP, GPP AU/NZ/APEA, TG UI, Finacle 10, AU066, BeamNet and MIDANZ to support reconciliation and transaction processing.
• Investigate unmatched transactions, payment exceptions and outstanding items to minimise operational risk.
• Partner with internal teams and correspondent banks to resolve queries and maintain seamless cross‑border payment operations.
• Execute key controls, maintain audit‑ready documentation and ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance and risk requirements.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of reconciliation breaks and drive process improvements.
• Prepare and deliver management reports on aging breaks, investigation outcomes and operational performance.
• Support automation initiatives, system enhancements and user‑acceptance testing to strengthen controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience in payments, transaction processing, banking operations, fintech or corporate treasury.
• Strong understanding of Nostro/Vostro account operations, reconciliation processes and break management.
• Hands‑on expertise in SWIFT/ISO messaging (MT940, MT942, MT103, MT202) and end‑to‑end payment lifecycle management.
• Solid knowledge of global payment systems, cross‑border settlements and correspondent banking practices.
• Good understanding of AML, sanctions screening, regulatory requirements and operational risk controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, economics or related field (post‑graduate qualifications a plus).

• SWIFT/ISO messaging (MT940, MT942, MT103, MT202).
• Reconciliation platforms: TLM RP, AMH, PEGA PRS, PIC AU/NZ, FMM, FMP, GPP AU/NZ/APEA, TG UI, BeamNet, MIDANZ.
• Finacle 10 and related banking applications.
• Advanced MS Excel for data analysis.
