Founding Engineer (Distributed Systems)

About the role

Oodle is building an iconic observability platform that lets developer and SRE teams process ten times more data at a fraction of the cost. As a Founding Engineer you will join the core team in Bangalore and help create a product that reshapes the observability market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core distributed systems that power Oodle’s unified logs, metrics, and traces experience.
• Run rapid experiments to discover customer needs, prototype solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
• Optimize the software stack and database engine for cost efficiency, performance, and massive scale, ensuring every CPU cycle counts.
• Collaborate closely with customers, product, and engineering to eliminate ambiguity and drive high‑impact decisions.
• Help shape the company culture and recruit top talent as the team grows.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of experience building large‑scale, high‑performance distributed systems.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for creating breakthrough technology.
• Self‑starter with a strong work ethic, integrity, and a desire to eventually start your own company.
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats—from coding to customer interaction to strategic planning.

Required skills

• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.
• Hands‑on knowledge of distributed databases such as CockroachDB and DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with Amazon S3 storage services.
• Strong understanding of observability concepts and performance optimization.
