Financial Controller – UK Energy Market (Ahmedabad)

About the role

Unreconciled is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a new UK business energy supplier. Based in Ahmedabad, you will design and operate finance processes from the ground‑up, supporting a fast‑growing venture that will serve hundreds of thousands of business customers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run the finance operation for a UK energy supplier, from licence application through launch and scale.
• Design control frameworks, month‑end close processes and reporting packs for senior leadership.
• Manage complex revenue recognition under IFRS 15, including accrued income, estimation models and true‑ups.
• Oversee cash forecasting, collateral management and working‑capital optimisation.
• Handle high‑volume reconciliation of meter data, direct debits, receivables and bad‑debt provisions.
• Prepare regulatory reports to meet Ofgem licence conditions.
• Deliver cross‑border tax strategies, project‑based accounting for diverse clients and board packs for start‑ups.

Required profile

• Strong finance and accounting background, preferably with experience in complex, multi‑jurisdictional environments.
• Ability to design finance processes from scratch and scale them as the business grows.
• Comfort with high‑volume data reconciliation, cash management and regulatory reporting.
• Analytical mindset capable of handling intricate cost structures and revenue estimation.
