Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounts function during a period of rapid growth. The role spans quick‑commerce platforms, e‑commerce marketplaces, airlines, defence and institutional accounts, and works closely with founders and business heads to improve profitability, working capital and financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly and annual financial closing, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements, and maintain accurate books, reconciliations and ledger schedules.
• Establish accounting policies, approval matrices and internal controls; keep the finance function audit‑ready year‑round.
• Prepare weekly and monthly channel‑wise revenue, gross‑margin and contribution‑margin reports; analyse SKU, customer and channel profitability and identify margin leakage.
• Develop cash‑flow forecasts, monitor receivables, payables, inventory and credit limits, and drive timely collections from platforms and institutional customers.
• Oversee settlements and reconciliations for marketplaces (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Amazon) and manage PO‑to‑invoice matching for airlines, defence and institutional accounts.
• Manage accounting for raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods; monitor COGS, product costing, yields, wastage and conduct physical stock audits.
• Lead GST, TDS/TCS, e‑invoicing, e‑way‑bill compliance, statutory and tax audits, and ensure timely filing of returns and resolution of audit observations.
• Automate reconciliations, dashboards and financial workflows; drive ERP integration and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• 3‑7 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in D2C, FMCG, food & beverage manufacturing or retail distribution.
• Graduate degree in any discipline.
• Proven ability to lead a finance function, work cross‑functionally with senior leadership and enforce financial discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on profitability, working‑capital optimisation and compliance.
