Financial Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller leads all financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across the UK and India. Reporting to the CFO/Finance Director, the role blends technical expertise with strategic oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including A/R, A/P, general ledger, billing, inventory, and revenue recognition.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis.
• Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and Indian accounting standards.
• Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and financial planning.
• Handle statutory filings for UK Companies House and India MCA.
• Oversee tax compliance: UK Corporation Tax (CT600), VAT (MTD); India Income Tax, GST, TDS/TCS.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage payroll compliance for UK PAYE/NI and India PF/ESI/PT.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CA, CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a controller role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, and statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
