Financial Controller – India & Sri Lanka

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead controlling activities for Nike's India Marketplace across four legal entities in India and Sri Lanka. Reporting to the SEA&I Controlling leadership team, the role partners with internal stakeholders and external authorities to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of financial statements and ensure compliance with IND‑AS, local GAAP, and internal controls for all entities.
• Oversee statutory filings, tax compliance, and liaison with customs, tax authorities, auditors, bankers and consultants.
• Provide governance for treasury operations, cash‑flow forecasting, funding requirements and liquidity management.
• Drive cross‑functional initiatives, process‑improvement projects and functional simplification opportunities.
• Support business insights and decision‑making by collaborating with enabling functions and assessing financial impacts of new strategies.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of experience in a Big 4 firm or large multinational, with a CA qualification and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and business‑acumen skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into financial risks and controls.
• Proven experience in statutory reporting, audit management and taxation across multiple jurisdictions.

Required skills

• SAP (experience with ERP systems is desired).
