Finance Controller – US GAAP

About the role

Avery Dennison is a global materials‑science company seeking a Finance Controller to lead controllership, accounting, financial reporting and compliance for its operations. The role will ensure alignment with IFRS and US GAAP standards while supporting finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead controllership, accounting, financial reporting, global/group reporting, external & internal audit, and group compliance.
• Prepare entity accounts in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP reporting requirements.
• Oversee accounting streams including General Ledger, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Asset Management and Project Accounting.
• Manage statutory reporting, direct & indirect taxes, legal compliance and corporate secretarial functions.
• Maintain relationships with tax offices, banks and regulatory authorities.
• Conduct post‑cost analysis, standard costing benchmarking, MBR, Flash, FCF and DPO calculations.
• Support FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain Finance and Accounts Receivable teams to optimise working capital.
• Perform SOX documentation reviews and controls testing across key cycles.
• Lead system automation projects, including capex payment workflows and Oracle MFG implementation.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with 10+ years post‑qualification experience in an MNC or manufacturing environment.
• 8–10+ years of proven controllership or financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, local tax regulations, VAT and corporate secretarial frameworks.
• Experience handling audits and direct tax matters.
• Professional CMA or ACCA certifications are preferred.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Hyperion.
• Proficiency in Oracle ERP (including Oracle MFG module).
• Proficiency in SAP ERP modules.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial automation projects.
