Field Coordinator, Technical Assistance (EAII Advisors)

About the role

Evidence Action's technical partner in India, EAII Advisors, supports state governments in evidence-based public health programs such as safe drinking water, deworming and iron and folic acid supplementation. The Field Coordinator reports to the District Coordinator and works with the state team to implement the India Safe Water program at sub-district level, supporting water treatment sites and government advocacy. It is a one-year fixed-term position in Andhra Pradesh.

Key responsibilities

• Government advocacy (60%): train and build capacity of sub-district, block and mandal officials, help establish water quality policies, represent EAII with contractors and lead training for officials, partners, vendors and communities
• Stakeholder engagement (20%): coordinate vendors, community leaders and members, hold suppliers and contractors accountable for work, agreements and warranties
• Project implementation (20%): support Senior State Program Coordinators with water point verification, device installation, calibration, operations and vendor coordination, travel to allocated regions about 15 working days a month, and help collect monitoring data

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma, 2-5 years of development-sector experience, preferably in WASH with government or NGOs
• Experience collaborating with Water or Health officials at field, district and block levels, and managing suppliers and contractors
• Program implementation experience at district, block and community levels
• Valid driving licence and access to a 2- or 4-wheeler; travel expenses reimbursed
• Flexibility for early mornings or evenings

Required skills

• Telugu and English communication; understanding of local dialects is an asset
• Desirable: knowledge of PHED/RWSS functions and processes, capacity building of district-level government stakeholders, and managing data-heavy presentations and reports
