AI Governance Coordinator

About the role

The AI Governance Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the organization's AI governance program, working closely with the Head of Agentic AI Development / Operations. As the central administrator for AI use case intake, approval workflows and governance committee oversight, the role ensures compliance with organizational AI policies, regulatory requirements and ethical standards, while supporting senior leadership and cross-functional committees. It offers exposure to AI in financial services, as well as to privacy, compliance and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the AI use case intake process, including verifying completeness and communicating with submitters
• Coordinate approval workflows across stakeholders, track approvals and document decisions and their rationale
• Prepare agendas and materials for biweekly and quarterly meetings, manage virtual/hybrid meeting logistics, document minutes and decisions, and coordinate with committee members
• Maintain the use case inventory, create status reports on intake volume and compliance metrics, and act as the main point of contact for governance inquiries and escalations
• Ensure governance processes comply with policies and emerging regulations, keep comprehensive audit trails and share updates across the organization

Required profile

• 2-5 years in compliance, risk management or governance roles, preferably in regulated industries, with experience supporting governance committees
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Compliance, Risk Management, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in compliance, governance or risk management
• Background in program or project management in complex environments

Required skills

• Foundational understanding of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI principles (transparency, fairness, accountability, security)
• Familiarity with bias evaluation, testing and validation, data privacy and security, and integration of AI governance into enterprise risk management
• Understanding of emerging AI regulations and the ability to turn them into operational processes
• Experience with compliance monitoring, documentation and governance committee structures
• Stakeholder management, written and verbal communication, attention to detail and problem-solving
