About the role

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) in Malpe, Karnataka, offers a one‑year apprenticeship program under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973. The program is open to recent graduates and diploma holders in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering who have completed their studies between 2022 and 2026.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in on‑the‑job training at the shipyard.
  • Assist senior engineers in daily operational tasks.
  • Gain practical exposure to shipbuilding and related engineering processes.

Required profile

  • Graduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • Age 18 years or above as of 18‑05‑2026.
  • Passed the relevant examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Equivalency certificate if qualifications are not directly listed.

Required skills

    What we offer

    • Stipend of ₹13,200 per month for diploma apprentices and ₹15,000 per month for graduate apprentices.
    • Meals allowance.
    • Structured one‑year training and exposure to shipyard operations.
