Employee Relations and Labor Relations Lead

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to drive Employee Relations (ER) and Labor Relations (LR) strategy for our Mumbai operations. The role ensures compliance with labour laws, manages union relationships, and fosters a positive workplace culture across a large manufacturing/FMCG workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ER strategy: handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Lead LR strategy: negotiate with unions, conduct collective bargaining, and maintain industrial harmony.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, conduct audits, and implement relevant policies.
• Partner with plant and operations leadership, providing advice to senior management on ER/LR matters.
• Mentor and develop the HR team, building capability in ER and LR functions.

Required profile

• MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 15 years of HR experience with a focus on employee and labor relations.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and industrial relations.
• Proven track record in union handling, collective bargaining, and employee engagement within manufacturing or FMCG environments.
