Email Security Engineer – Proofpoint

About the role

We are looking for an Email Security Engineer with strong expertise in Proofpoint and cloud email platforms. The role focuses on protecting our organization’s email environment from phishing, spam, and other advanced threats while ensuring compliance with security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and administer email filtering solutions, manage SMTP errors and DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Monitor and respond to alerts from Proofpoint Threat Attack Protection, quarantine malicious messages, and troubleshoot issues.
• Analyze spam and phishing campaigns, assess attack scale, and execute mitigation actions.
• Generate weekly and monthly operational reports and participate in incident resolution calls.
• Document email security policies, processes, and support domain takedown and DMARC analysis activities.

Required profile

• 4 to 15 years of experience in email security or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of email and network protocols, and cloud email services such as Office 365.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes for Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
• Experience with additional security tools (antivirus, proxy, OS security) is a plus.
