Electrical Designer – Medical Imaging R&D

About the role

As an Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing electronic subsystems—including computing platforms, user interfaces, displays, and EMC‑compliant designs—for Philips Image Guided Therapy products. You will develop components and system elements using the V‑model methodology while aligning with user needs, product requirements, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop specifications for subsystems such as PCs, displays, and user interfaces.
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments (e.g., FMEA).
• Coordinate with mechanical, mechatronics, compliance, test, validation, purchasing, and quality functions.
• Conduct early integration tests on prototypes and resolve supplier issues.
• Execute verification of units and parts; EMC testing expertise is a plus.
• Define safety test specifications (IEC60601‑1), set up test strategies and plans, and perform functional and compliance testing with documentation.
• Create requirements, design, develop, verify, and release at least one subsystem independently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7+ years of R&D experience in the medical domain.
• Experience in product design, development, and maintenance of released products (preferably IEC60601‑1‑2).
• Excellent design documentation skills and a result‑oriented, problem‑solving attitude.
• Strong knowledge of embedded analog and digital hardware design.
• Ability to work independently and act proactively.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal.
• Experience with Agile Release Trains (SAFe) and a quality mindset; Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
