Editor – Behavioral & Health Sciences Books (APAC)

About the role

Springer Nature is looking for an Editor to grow its behavioural and health sciences books programme across India and the broader APAC region. You will be responsible for acquiring, developing and publishing a range of titles, from monographs and edited collections to textbooks and professional works.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage authors, supporting them throughout the publishing process.
• Solicit, review and evaluate book proposals, managing external peer‑review.
• Negotiate contract terms and oversee project development from proposal to production.
• Maintain relationships with series editors, authors and relevant academic or professional communities.
• Manage the back‑list portfolio, including decisions on new editions.
• Conduct market and competitor research to inform list development.
• Travel to domestic and international academic conferences as needed.

Required profile

• Experience managing book projects from acquisition to publication.
• Familiarity with behavioural and health sciences subject areas.
• Ability to conduct market analysis and identify growth opportunities.
• Strong communication skills for author and stakeholder interaction.
