Duty Security Officer

About the role

The Duty Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the Khavda site by overseeing security operations, surveillance, and access control. This role ensures that security processes align with the strategic objectives of the business and that incidents are managed promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business and site strategic objectives and provide operational input for strategy and roadmap.
• Assist in designing operating models and SOPs, ensuring processes are incorporated correctly.
• Review site operations and propose process‑improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Process Centre of Excellence.
• Oversee end‑to‑end site operations, ensuring adherence to operating models and SOPs, and guide the team on exception handling.
• Submit periodic performance reports to the Site Security Head and support security awareness programs.
• Conduct patrols, monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment, and maintain daily occurrence logs.
• Manage the Genetic system for continuous monitoring of sensors, alarms, and access points.
• Control vehicle and personnel access, oversee access‑card issuance and deactivation for visitors and officials.
• Supervise business traffic management, including GPS and RFID tagging of trucks and cargo.
• Identify and develop intelligence sources for financial crime and union activity, maintaining a register of gathered information.
• Act as first responder during crises, lead or join the Quick Response Team, and update response plans based on incident learnings.
