Duty Engineer

About the role

The Duty Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in ensuring the hotel’s technical infrastructure operates safely and efficiently. Working on a daily basis, you will coordinate maintenance activities, supervise the engineering team, and guarantee that all systems meet the high standards expected by Accor.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily engineering briefings, assigning tasks to staff.
• Schedule, document, and oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance for HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, fire‑life‑safety, plumbing, low‑voltage, and building‑maintenance systems.
• Supervise team members, provide feedback, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Prepare consumption reports for power, water, steam, and gas.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure adherence to contracts and safety standards.
• Identify workflow improvements and communicate disruptions to the Chief Engineer.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, licensed by the Professional Regulations Commission.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant engineering or maintenance experience in a hotel or similar environment.
• Proven ability to lead a technical team and conduct performance reviews.
• Strong understanding of hotel fire and life‑safety procedures.
