Duty Engineer – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Duty Engineer ensures the smooth operation and maintenance of all engineering systems at the ibis Mumbai Vikhroli hotel. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer to prevent breakdowns, optimise utility consumption and support guest service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment to prevent failures.
• Monitor utility consumption and assist in improving energy efficiency.
• Support the Chief Engineer in planning, budgeting and coordinating the Engineering Department’s activities.
• Ensure compliance with ibis policies, health and safety regulations, and local standards.
• Provide backup support to Housekeeping or other departments when required by the General Manager.
• Oversee building inspections covering stonework, brickwork, painting, flooring, carpentry and related installations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance.
• Strong coordination skills with other hotel departments.
• Ability to respond quickly to guest queries and resolve technical issues.
• Leadership qualities to motivate and develop engineering staff.
• Commitment to safety training and adherence to regulations.
