Duty Doctor – Full‑time Clinical Role

About the role

Silverline Hospital in Kochi is seeking a full‑time Duty Doctor to provide round‑the‑clock clinical care. The successful candidate will work on‑site, delivering patient assessment, treatment initiation and coordination with senior consultants in a multi‑specialty environment focused on diabetes, thyroid, obesity and endocrinology.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and examine patients, initiate appropriate treatment under senior consultant guidance.
• Monitor in‑patients, update treatment plans and ensure accurate, timely medical records.
• Coordinate with nursing and allied health teams, respond to emergencies and critical cases.
• Assist with procedures and participate in handover rounds.
• Follow hospital protocols, NABH standards and contribute to a safe, patient‑focused environment.

Required profile

• Recognized MBBS degree and valid registration with the Medical Council of India or relevant State Medical Council.
• Clinical experience as a Duty Doctor, Resident or Medical Officer, preferably in internal medicine, diabetology or endocrinology.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision‑making and basic emergency management skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate professionally with consultants and support staff.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Empathy, ethical practice and respect for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (highly desirable).
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation.
