Director/VP Supply Chain – Equipment – Semiconductor

About the role

The Director/VP of Supply Chain – Equipment will lead end‑to‑end procurement strategy for semiconductor equipment in a greenfield fab. This senior position ensures that all process and metrology tools are sourced, installed, and ready for qualification on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs and equipment suppliers.
• Create a phased equipment procurement master plan aligned with construction, cleanroom, and AMHS readiness.
• Define category strategies, including new vs refurbished, OEM vs third‑party, and frame agreements.
• Establish total cost of ownership models and should‑cost analyses for high‑value modules.
• Run RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, negotiate pricing, delivery slots, performance guarantees, and service agreements.
• Close Master Purchase Agreements and Global Frame Agreements, incorporating software rights, cybersecurity clauses, and field service SLAs.
• Maintain long‑lead item and slot trackers, ensuring alignment with move‑in, hook‑up, qualification, and process release schedules.
• Coordinate with logistics and customs teams to set export‑control pathways and trade architecture.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in semiconductor equipment procurement or a comparable high‑tech manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage complex supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of trade, tax, and export‑control regulations.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering large‑scale projects on time and on budget.
