Director of People & Culture

About the role

The Director of People & Culture is a senior member of the leadership team at BML Munjal University, responsible for shaping the university’s people strategy and fostering a high‑performance, values‑driven culture. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the role oversees the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition to engagement and HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an HR strategy aligned with the university’s institutional goals.
• Partner with senior leaders on culture, structure, workforce planning, and change management.
• Lead global faculty and staff recruitment, ensuring transparent, merit‑based processes.
• Design and manage induction programs, performance management systems, and leadership development initiatives.
• Oversee compensation benchmarking, payroll, benefits, and compliance with UGC, AICTE, NAAC and other regulations.
• Digitize HR processes using HRMS platforms and analytics.
• Drive employee experience through engagement surveys, internal communication, recognition, and employee‑relations programs.
• Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, service rules, and code of conduct, supporting accreditation and audit activities.

Required profile

• MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institution.
• 20+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior strategic role.
• Experience in large universities, education management, or service‑sector organizations preferred.
• Strong strategic partnership skills, executive presence, and alignment with university values.
