Director, Jewelry Category Manager

About the role

As the Director, Jewelry Category Manager at 1stDibs, you will shape the strategy and growth of one of the platform’s most prestigious verticals. You will combine deep luxury‑market expertise with rigorous data analysis to drive GMV and reinforce the brand as the premier destination for fine jewelry.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a long‑term growth vision for vintage, estate, and contemporary jewelry segments.
• Partner with Dealer Relations and Art Research to onboard leading estates and brands, ensuring breadth and quality of selection.
• Provide dealers with data‑driven insights and pricing strategies to maximize their performance on the marketplace.
• Analyze marketplace KPIs—conversion, traffic, inventory health—and translate findings into actionable growth levers.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to advocate for features that enhance the jewelry‑buying journey.

Required profile

• 8+ years of category or inventory management experience in luxury e‑commerce, auction houses, or the jewelry industry.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into strategic decisions.
• Deep insider knowledge of fine, vintage, and designer jewelry.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Exceptional presentation skills, able to speak “luxury” to dealers and “data” to executives.
• Nice to have: GIA or similar gemology credentials, experience in luxury resale or auction markets, genuine passion for design and craftsmanship.
