Director, Business Finance Audit

About the role

We are looking for a Director to lead the Business Audit team within Morgan Stanley’s Internal Audit Core Finance function. The role provides an independent assessment of the firm’s finance controls and supports senior management in risk management and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver audit coverage for finance areas, including risk assessments, audit planning, testing and reporting.
• Lead continuous monitoring activities, gather data, analyse risks and support risk assessments.
• Act as Auditor in Charge, develop audit plans, test programs and execute within budget.
• Communicate findings to Audit Coverage Managers and the Audit Director.
• Identify and evaluate risks related to finance regulatory reporting and core finance processes.
• Design and execute test procedures, documenting results according to internal standards.
• Participate in projects to improve audit methodology and coverage.

Required profile

• 5-6 years of relevant audit or finance experience, preferably with exposure to Asia, US or UK regulatory reporting.
• Strong understanding of audit principles, methodology and continuous monitoring.
• Knowledge of financial markets, instruments and the institutional business line.
• Professional certifications such as CA, CIA, CFA, FRM or CPA are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience building Power BI dashboards.
• Familiarity with AI tools and platforms (e.g., OpenAI, GPT‑based systems).
