Director, Ads & MarTech Engineering

About the role

eBay is seeking a Director to lead its Bengaluru engineering unit focused on Ads and Marketing Technology (MarTech). You will be responsible for shaping strategy, driving execution, and ensuring high‑quality delivery of platforms that enable sellers and advertisers to grow their businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale a high‑performing software engineering organization, including managers and individual contributors.
• Define and own the multi‑quarter engineering roadmap, aligning technology investments with product priorities and business outcomes across Ads and MarTech.
• Establish operating cadence, execution clarity, and decision‑making mechanisms to deliver complex initiatives predictably.
• Oversee quality management, technical execution, and organizational efficiency.
• Coach and develop engineering leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven senior engineering leadership experience, preferably in large‑scale, consumer‑facing platforms.
• Strong ability to translate business priorities into durable technical strategies.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling high‑performing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across product, analytics, and applied science.
