DevOps Evangelist – GitHub Enterprise

About the role

The DevOps Evangelist (GitHub Enterprise) will lead the adoption, enablement, and operationalization of the enterprise GitHub platform across product organizations within Siemens Smart Infrastructure (Buildings BU). Reporting to the DevSecOps & Compliance Organization, the role acts as a catalyst for cultural and technical change, driving modern DevOps and DevSecOps practices. The position focuses on migration from legacy ALM tools, establishing governance, and delivering secure, automated end‑to‑end release processes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive adoption of the enterprise GitHub operating model across product teams.
• Define and propose organization‑level governance, compliance, and policy frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.
• Ensure enforceable controls for repository governance, access management, and secure development practices.
• Support migration from existing ALM tooling to GitHub Enterprise.
• Operationalize centrally defined security, compliance, and governance controls within local organizations.
• Consolidate and onboard repositories into unified GitHub organizations.
• Establish standardized CI/CD pipelines enabling automated build, validation, and release workflows.
• Promote DevSecOps practices to ensure secure and compliant software delivery.
• Facilitate seamless collaboration among developers, product owners, QA, release managers, SREs, and engineering management.
• Act as a change catalyst, driving cultural and operational transformation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps or GitHub enablement expert within a large organization.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated software delivery.
• Ability to define and implement governance, compliance, and security policies.
• Experience guiding migration from legacy ALM tools to modern platforms.
• Excellent communication skills to influence and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
