DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments and production hardening for two Python‑based applications. You will move the current manual deployment process to an automated, reliable workflow that supports continuous delivery across development, QA and production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement CI pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) that automatically run the full suite of unit, integration, exception and edge tests on every pull request.
• Maintain and harden Docker‑Compose deployments across dev, QA and prod, ensuring zero‑downtime rebuilds and secure secret handling.
• Implement shared, production‑grade rate‑limit storage using Redis to replace in‑memory solutions.
• Manage secret rotation, TLS termination and JWT/session secret enforcement across all environments.
• Set up centralized monitoring and alerting for uptime, error rates and MongoDB health, extending existing /healthz endpoints.
• Maintain the branch promotion workflow (feature → dev → QA → main) in line with the documented Git strategy.
• Own MongoDB backup, restore and rollback procedures, including index and GridFS management.
• Collaborate with developers to keep CI drift‑gate rules synchronized between backend and frontend.

Required profile

• Proven experience deploying Python web applications (Flask or FastAPI) with gunicorn/uvicorn and nginx in production.
• Strong background with Docker and Docker‑Compose in multi‑service, multi‑environment settings.
• Hands‑on expertise building CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Solid knowledge of MongoDB operations, backups, indexes and connection‑string management.
• Experience with secrets management, JWT handling and TLS configuration.
• Ability to read and integrate pytest output into automated pipelines.
