DevOps Engineer – Hybrid, Pune

About the role

Helpshift is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join its core DevOps team in Pune. The role is hybrid and focuses on building, scaling, and securing the infrastructure that powers critical workloads across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, configuration, and testing.
• Own production services, ensure full monitoring coverage, and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Build zero‑downtime upgrade processes for core components such as ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, Kafka, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Develop cloud‑agnostic infrastructure that can be migrated across providers without downtime.
• Integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle and conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code templates using tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with development and operations teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong expertise with Unix‑like operating systems (Ubuntu) and networking protocols.
• Deep understanding of security architectures, IAM principles, and container security.
• Proven ability to design highly scalable, fault‑tolerant, and cost‑effective solutions.
