Developer Relations Engineer - Community Manager

About the role

Sarvam is building a sovereign AI platform for India and needs a Developer Relations Engineer to lead its developer community. You will own the Discord community, design and run hackathons, meetups, office hours and workshops, and turn developer feedback into product improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Discord community: moderation, onboarding flows, channel structure, triaging questions and routing them to the right experts.
• Design, plan and execute community programs such as hackathons, meetups, office hours, workshops and campus outreach from concept through logistics and follow‑up.
• Identify and recognise top builders, providing them platforms to grow and contribute within the community.
• Drive growth initiatives through partnerships with colleges, other developer ecosystems and community‑led content.
• Collect and synthesize developer feedback, surface recurring friction points and champion fixes with engineering and product teams.
• Monitor community health metrics (activity, retention, response times, participation, NPS) and use data to prioritize actions.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in community management, developer programs or a related role, preferably in a devtools, developer platform or open‑source ecosystem.
• Proven track record of building a community from the ground up and scaling it to thousands of active members.
• Comfortable interacting with developers and understanding technical conversations, even without being an engineer.
• Strong organisational skills: able to run events end‑to‑end, manage timelines and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
• Clear, warm writing style for announcements, Discord replies and program documentation.
• Self‑starter who can take loosely defined briefs and deliver polished results quickly.
• Genuine passion for helping builders succeed and learning from community needs.
