Design Engineer – Wheel End Products

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to support existing Wheel End product lines. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, suppliers and customers to develop and improve components using advanced CAD tools.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models and 2D assembly drawings with Pro/E Creo and manage drawing releases via IPEM.
• Prepare CAD models for FEA and CFD analysis and coordinate results with physical testing.
• Generate detailed analysis reports and drive cost‑saving projects.
• Design and detail components fabricated from iron casting, steel stamping, molded plastic and machined parts.
• Integrate Design for Manufacturing principles, develop Bills of Materials and apply GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Coordinate major design efforts with vendors, customers and internal teams.
• Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R reviews and mentor junior design engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design for automotive or commercial vehicle braking systems (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ANSI, ASME and ISO standards.
• Ability to work in cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively.
• Self‑starter attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Pro/E Creo (advanced CAD modelling, surfacing, sheet‑metal).
• IPEM and Teamcenter (PLM) usage.
• GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• FEA and CFD preparation.
• Design for Manufacturing and cost‑reduction techniques.
• Bill of Materials creation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
