Deputy Manager – Payments & Merchant Acquiring

About the role

Bajaj Finance Ltd. is expanding its QR acquiring business and is looking for a Deputy Manager to build the operation from the ground up in the Mumbai‑Goregaon territory. You will hire, train and lead a field sales team, oversee QR and POS deployments, and drive merchant acquisition to grow transaction volume and gross merchandise value.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a Field Operations Sales (FOS) team to meet productivity targets.
• Acquire new merchants and drive QR code, SB and POS/EDC deployments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers for business development.
• Ensure proper channel coverage through FOS mapping and manage channel relationships.
• Drive sales numbers, retailer payment reconciliation and monthly store activation.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotion ideas and execution.
• Maintain process rigor, controllership and visibility at points of sale.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of experience in payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales.
• Prior exposure to merchant acquisition, QR payments or POS deployments is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to handle merchant relationships directly.
• High energy, self‑starter attitude and a passion for field work.
